Having spent the 2010-11 season with the United States Under-18 team, Mario Lucia scored four goals and added an assist in 15 games played, which includes three goals in six games.


Lucia plays the left wing whose listed at 6’2, 183 pounds. Lucia is a pretty good skater who has pro size. He sees the ice well, in addition to having both a good shot and a good hockey IQ. Overall, Lucia has good size and range.


On the downside, since Lucia’s post-high school has consist of the 15 games he play for his country’s Under-18 squad, it’s hard to project how he will fare in the NHL. He effort is said to be inconsistent and he is not very gritty, although that could develop once Lucia is exposed to tougher competition.
