On Tuesday, a 14-year-old piano prodigy by the name of Daniel Clarke Bouchard was on Ellen doing what he does best. Afterwards, however, host Ellen Degeneres gave Bouchard a very pleasant surprise.
Bouchard, who is a huge fan of Los Angeles Kings' goaltender Jonathan Quick, was introduced to none other than Mr. Quick himself.
Following his piano solo, Bouchard saw the doors open up when standing behind them was Quick with a jersey and a goalie stick in hand.
Quick entered the stage, gave the 14-year-old a Kings home jersey with Quick's name and number stitched on the back in addition to a Warrior goaltender stick, much like the one the 2012 Conn Smythe winner himself uses. Or perhaps the stick was used by Quick. Regardless, it was quite the gesture for Quick to show up and make the day - possibly even week or month - of one of his fans.
In addition, Quick complimented Bouchard on his phenomenal piano skills and offered him tickets to a Kings game for the next time the 14-year-old is in town.
This was indeed a class-act move by Jonathan Quick, in addition to Ellen Degeneres, and underlines just how great not only the Kings but hockey players in general are and how much they appreciate their fans.
Well done, Mr. Quick.
