Previewing the Los Angeles Kings’ 2012-13 season: West Final, Game 5 @ Chicago; June 8/13, 6pm PST (9pm EST)
The task is simple: in order to keep their season going, the Los Angeles Kings have to win in Game 5. It is a fairly obvious scenario but the silver-and-black do have the unenviable task of trying for a win at the Madhouse where the Chicago Blackhawks have been dominant. It also doesn't help matters that the Kings are winless on the road this postseason.
At 0-8, the Kings are looking for some divine intervention as they hope to extend the Western Final and head back to Los Angeles for Game 6 where, despite losing Game 4, they are dominant.
The attitude amongst the Kings players and their fans is resort to the old cliche and take this series one game at a game. Everyone still believes as crazier things have happened in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Mike Richards, however, is still not ready to come back after suffering a concussion late in Game 1 but the Kings must carry on by having the rest of the team play like it is their biggest game of the season - which, obviously, it is.
The Los Angeles Kings know what they have to do and tonight, it is a matter of putting that into practice. Will the defending champs prolong their season? We'll see.
Enjoy the game!
