The Scott Parse era has officially ended in Los Angeles as the left-winger signed with the New Jersey Devils earlier this week according to the Bergen County Record. Parse signed a two-way contract worth $1.2 million over three years.
Of course, due to the lockout, Parse will be going to Albany where he will be playing for New Jersey's AHL affiliate.
In 63 career games with the Kings, Parse scored 14 goals and 16 assists. After playing in 59 games with Los Angeles during the 2009-10 season, the 28-year-old had a string of bad luck with injuries playing in just 16 games, including a pair of playoff contests in 2011. Parse has not played since November 8, 2011 due to a hip injury.
While I did like Scott Parse a great deal, he was on the siidelines for much of his stay in Los Angeles, which is unfortunate considering how great he could have been had he stayed healthy. Nevertheless, I wish Parse nothing but the best with the Devils.
