Previewing the Los Angeles Kings' 2013-14 season:
Game 50 @ Boston
January 20, 2014
12pm PST (3pm EST)
After a controversial (and angering) finish to their game in Detroit on Saturday, the Los Angeles Kings must move forward as they prepare for a rare Monday matinee in Boston with the Eastern Conference champion Bruins.
This marks the second and final meeting between the two clubs with the Kings winning 4-2 at Staples Center on January 9.
While the Kings are coming a controversial loss, the Bruins are fresh off a thrilling shootout loss in Chicago on Sunday afternoon. Hopefully, the lack of rest for the B's will be an advantage to the Kings. Then again, if history serves as a learning tool, perhaps not.
Despite their last loss, the Kings did earn a point in the shootout making it six out of their last seven where they did earn at least one. With that said, the silver-and-black would love to exit Beantown with a pair of points.
While they are missing the services of Chris Kelly, Dougie Hamilton and now, most likely, Adam McQuaid, the Bruins still have veteran Patrice Bergeron who has racked up two goals and three assists during his current three-game point streak. Speaking of three-game point streaks, Jeff Carter is riding one of his own which includes goals in his last two outings.
Overall, it should be another fine matchup between two of the last three Stanley Cup champions.
Enjoy the game!
