Previewing the Los Angeles Kings' 2013-14 season:

Game 51 @ Columbus

January 21, 2014

4pm PST (7pm EST)

When Los Angeles Kings fans hear that their team is playing the Columbus Blue Jackets, it usually sounds like it's going to be two points for their team - but not so fast. After a slow start to the season, the Jackets find themselves on a six-game winning streak and co-holders of the final playoff spot in the East. Fans at Columbus's Nationwide Arena hope to see their team earn a seventh-straight victory.

Tuesday marks the first of two meetings between the Kings and Blue Jackets in what is now an inter-conference matchup. After Tuesday's meeting, the Kings and Jackets will meet in Los Angeles on February 6 in what will be the final game for both teams before the NHL's Olympic hiatus.

If last season is any indication, the Kings should have a better chance against a Columbus team they went 3-0-0 against last season. The last time the Kings visited Columbus, Slava Voynov scored the game-winning goal. While he only has three tallies in 50 games this season, the Russian D-man has done most of his damage on the road. Kings fans are hoping that applies at Nationwide on Tuesday.

We'll see if Los Angeles can end their mini two-game slide.

Enjoy the game!
