After a tough loss, the Los Angeles Kings are right back to work as they head to Denver to visit the Colorado Avalanche in this the fourth and final meeting between the two clubs this season.
Having gone 0-2-1 against them in their three meetings thus far, the Kings hope to salvage a win against the Avs and keep their heads above water as we fast approach the end of the regular season.
The only meeting this season between the two clubs in Denver came back on October 30 when the Avs won 2-1. In that game, Scott Parse scored the lone goal for the Kings. How times change.
Colorado has been modest in their last ten having gone 3-5-2 during that stretch. The Avs trail Los Angeles by four points for that eighth and final playoff spot in the West and they hope to shut out the Kings this season to inch closer to the post-season.
Should the Kings carry over their potent offensive performance from Glendale, they will hope to have a more focused defensive game as well as a better penalty-kill, both of which were uncharacteristically shoddy against the Coyotes.
Everyone backing the Kings is hoping for a better performance with a better result in Denver. Good luck to them.
