Previewing the Los Angeles Kings' 2011-12 season:

Game 77 @ Calgary

March 28, 2012

7pm PST (10pm EST)

The Los Angeles Kings continue their final road trip of the season in Calgary where they will take on Jarome Iginla and the Flames in a matchup that has heavy playoff implications for both clubs as both sit one and two points out of the final playoff spot respectively.

After winning the first meeting in Calgary on January 14, the Kings lost their next two to the Flames as they hope to end their season series with a split. Also for the fourth time this season will be the battle of the two brothers behind the bench as Darryl and Brent Sutter look to point their respective teams in the right direction and fight to play in April.

Expect Jonathan Quick to once again get the start between the pipes for Los Angeles. He holds a 1.67 goals-against average lifetime versus the Flames while going 5-4-1 over that stretch. His counterpart, however, will be a tough obstacle as Miikka Kiprusoff comes into this game with a 19-8-3 record with a 2.02 GAA in his career against the Kings, which includes a 28-save shutout performance on February 18 in the most recent meeting between the two clubs.

The Kings will have to play a lot better than they did on Monday in Vancouver should they hope to win. They definitely have their work cut out for them. Whether they can do it or not remains to be seen.

Enjoy the game!
