Game 8 (4-2-2)

The Los Angeles Kings hold on for the win in this a sort of a rollercoaster of a game by surviving a last-minute onslaught by the host Hamburg Freezers. The Kings end their preseason on a positive note and now look forward to the start the regular season.

It was Hamburg's Serge Aubin that had the biggest impact for the home team but it wasn't nearly enough to get the victory.

Justin Williams got the game started in the opening minute of regulation as he scored on the game's first shot to give the Kings the 1-0 lead. Williams also had an assist. Overall, though, Anze Kopitar had the biggest night as he scored and added two helpers en route to the win.

Alec Martinez, Brad Richardson and Ethan Moreau (whose not known for his goal-scoring) added tallies as well. Jarret Stoll, Dustin Brown and Scott Parse all added assists, as well.

Both goaltenders played well, although Bernier did have the better showing, not allowing a goal until the final minute of regulation.

On the negative side, the Kings did allow a power play for the third-straight game but I'm sure with the win, they can live with it.

So, the 2011 preseason is officially in the books for the Los Angeles Kings as they now prepare for the regular-season opener this Friday as they play the New York Rangers in Stockholm, Sweden.
